PACOA (Port Adelaide Community Against AUKUS) will be having their first meeting of 2026 on Fri Feb 20th, 4pm at the Semaphore Workers Club.
This is a community meeting for all local residents concerned about AUKUS and its impacts on the Le Fevre Peninsula. This will be a grassroots, people-powered gathering focused on learning, sharing information, and planning and organising for the months ahead.

Late last year, Defence officials acknowledged that Australia would permit visits by US submarines under the AUKUS agreement that may carry nuclear weapons in future ‒ a direct contradiction of previous assurances that submarines visiting Australia would not be nuclear-armed. There are also concerns that American B52 bombers could be modified to be nuclear capable and this raises serious questions about planned upgrades at RAAF Tindal in the NT.
